Road Atlanta Peach State Challenge

Well, it was off to the famed Road Atlanta track for our first races there. The track was fantastic: our luck was not. The Cobra had engine problems – not the same ones, but the same result. Dan salvaged a fourth-place finish on Saturday at the expense of his car. On Sunday, Ed Boothman generously loaned him the use of his spec Cobra, but a stuck throttle ended Dan's day.

Bobbie had a bit better luck. With just one other RX-7 to race, Bobbie put on an impressive show on Saturday and nearly lapped her competitor. On Sunday, Dan helped the other guy with a few tips and Bobbie had to work really hard to get the win. She drove the pink car hard and finished ahead of some faster Porsches. This was only the second race where she didn't get hit, but she did manage to whack some curbing and do a little damage. We loved the track, but we'd like it to be a little easier on the cars!
